  • Happy Weekend!

Well, it has been a week since I've updated so I suppose it is time I do so. Last weekend I went up to Stamford and

had a great time hanging out with friends. On Saturday we went to the Woodbury Common outlet mall where I bought a couple of things. Not too many thankfully. The

best thing I got was this strapless dress from Ann Taylor. Mine however is blue with white stripes. Now I just need to get a strapless bra and i'll be all set to actually wear it. I also got 3 tops.. but since factory stores don't really have websites i won't post pics.

Then on Sunday I hosted a game night at my place. We ended up having about 8 people attend. It was a lot of fun! We played Celebrity, Cranium and Apples to Apples.. and then ended the night with a game of Settlers of Catan. Good times!

What else? This week on Wednesday I went to the Mets game with 2 friends. I had a great time! Sadly the Padres did win.. but the game was fun none the less. Also, Blue Smoke is delicious and their Salty Peanut Jalapeno Dark Chocolate bar was AMAZEBALLS. Seriously.

The steady stream of house guests has somewhat tapered off, although a friend will crash at my place tomorrow after we see Garfunkel and Oats perform at a comedy club (one of the girls is Gooch from Scrubs). My aunt and uncle will also be in town this weekend so somewhere we'll get together for a meal or something too. Other than that? Not too many plans... a week from today my sister arrives and I really REALLY cannot wait for that. We're going to have a blast!

Hmm, that reminds me, I should look into tickets for concerts/games when she is in town. Alright, time to do that and then shut down the computer and head out for the weekend. I cannot believe i've been (not) working on this post all day and it still doesn't even really say anything. Oh well.

ps. Jersey Shore is back! woohoo! Also, despite disliking Rachel I was very happy with the BB13 twist and Lawon is an idiot. Also, tonight I will watch the finale of SYTYCD. Is anyone watching Bachelor Pad? My coworker saw JP at Duane Reade here in the city. He was surrounded by papparazzi. Pretty funny/sad. Sort of like THIS. Happy weekend! Hey Ya!  (<--click if you want to laugh)

  • love the dress! the stripes go the right way in the right places!!

  • That dress is real cute. I can't handle strapless. :(

  • Love the dress, too - but I'll bet it'd look better on you than me! *grins*

  • Let me know when you find that strapless bra. I figure you need a "big one" too, do you? I'm between a D and E cup and have yet to find a strapless bra my size. I'll be in the US in a couple of months so if there's a store that sells strapless bras in plus sizes, please do tell me! Thanks!

The dress is gorgeous, by the way.

  • Nice dress.  What shade of blue did you get?

  • I love that dress!! So cute.

  • Love the dress! I don't know how you can watch Jersey Shore though -- the level of stupid just makes me angry. That horrible people like them are paid very well (have become very rich, in fact) and are famous for being idiots & jerks. Agh.

What shoes are you going to wear with that dress?

  • @RizzlGrizzl - I'll find out soon whether or not I can

@CanadianE -  I have very VERY high tolerance for crap tv. Seriously. I watch a lot of junk. Not sure why.. but I do.  People yelling at each other on tv oddly relaxes me.. most people likley get stressed by it. I don't. As for shoes with the dress? hadn't really thought about it yet. I have brown and black wedges and I have flip flops in many colors. Also have some blue pumps. Probably something like that? Maybe ballerina flats..   LOL.

@janusfiles - cobalt. or perhaps a tad more navy than cobalt. Its sorta just "blue". I can't find a picture of it, but maybe when I wear it I will take one and show you.
@Miststueck - Where in the US will you be? My best suggestion is Macy's. They have a big lingerie dept with all sizes and prices. Alternatively, Lane Bryant has big sizes (although I don't like the way they look as much). Have you looked at http://www.barenecessities.com/? they have a lot of options as well.

  • Thank you! I checked out Macy's website and found out the ship internationally! Now I just need to figure out my bra size in US sizes.

I'll be in San Diego and maybe head over to Vegas for a couple of days.

  • I need to learn how to wear strapless dresses.  I can never do it because I feel all frumpy because I slouch all th etime.

  • @maandsaint - this one is stretchy material so i'm hoping that doesn't happen.. it should just stick to me no matter what I do ( then again...  dream on, Naomi... right? haha).

@Miststueck -  that isn't anywhere near me. haha. oh well. maybe next time.

  • You're in NY, aren't you? Not the immediate neighborhood, that's true.

  • @Miststueck - Yeah, I need to find a strapless bra and I'm big, too -- keep me posted as to what you find?

I suspect that I will end up having to get a bustier because I hate the "tube-boob" that a lot of strapless bras give. I wish I could sew better, then I could sew my own custom-fit corset-style. I'd wear one every day so that the pressure on my shoulders would be fixed!
@X_naomi_X - The dress would look good with the flats for more casual daytime, and would be awesome with simple wedges for more dressy, or even a stiletto-style for night. Of course, easy for me to say -- I can't wear stilettos! Or any kind of high heel, actually -- it knock my back out of line, and I have fibromyalgia so I have to be careful of hurting myself! I used be a nightclub waitress, and I'd wear heels to work in. I don't know how I managed to walk in heels with a tray of drinks way up over my head! Now, I live vicariously through people who CAN wear high heels!
