  • The final result!

    TADA!

It arrived! I tipped $20 and am so happy with it. Now I can hang up the new paintings I have on the wall and get some blue curtains and a lamp that fits behind the sofa in the corner and be all set. Weeeee!

So in the end, I am now at the office and I probably didn't have to be. Ugh. I misguessed. I yesterday sent my boss an email telling him that I was unable to find someone to be at my house from 11:30AM-1:30PM (sofa delivery) but that i'd come in from 9-11 and then be back again as soon as the furniture had been delivered. He wrote back in the evening saying: "Do NOT come in the AM. U are great. Take care of this and come back afterwards. Such an annoyance for you, I feel bad." which was super nice. Somehow though it felt like a test. Maybe it isn't... and maybe he isn't really bipolar and so he would have perhaps still in the AM agreed with what he said the night prior.. but somehow I still felt obliged to come in. I mean, furniture delivery isn't a normal reason to not go to work. We also just had a big blowup recently about trust with the whole car saga a month ago and I dont want to take advantage of the office--or have them feel like I do. Having furniture delivered is hardly a reason not to come to work.. and they're being nice about letting me out to go deal with it. That said, when I walked in this morning he didn't say "oh great, you decided to come in afterall" or anything like that. He was surprised to see me, but not even necessarily in a good way. Oh well. No bonus points OR extra sleep for me I suppose. Either way, it isn't a big big deal. AND, if the sofa comes at 1:30PM I won't feel as bad as if that happened and I hadn't come in in the morning.

In other news I got the sofa bed out of the apartment last night and now a friend who lives a couple blocks away owns it. The large sofa is still in my apt (and in the dining room and totally in the way and annnoying) but once this new Macy's one is in and fits it will go as well. I have one prospective buyer from Craigslist but we'll see. I do have 5 people coming over tonight to play Settlers of Catan (yup, i'm still a dork) so I could ask the guys to help me move the sofa to the basement and just be rid of it. Perhaps I can even smooth talk the Macy's delivery guys into carrying it for me? Unlikely though. Should I tip them? If so, how much? I never know with this kind of a thing.. what do you think/do?

When I moved the sofa bed I did notice that there was a small pipe from where the radiator used to be, sticking out of the floor. I hope that this new sectional clears it the same way the old one did. We'll see. It'll be nice to have the new sofa and it'll be nice to start thinking about all things non-sectional since this has totally dominated my mind this whole week.

Ooh--the website says ETA delivery of 11:37AM. Maybe I'll leave at 10:50
