I enjoy watching the show The Good Wife. I liked Julianna Margulies back when she was Dr. Carol Hathaway on ER and now I think she's convincing as Chris Noth's wife, Alicia Florek. I've known that the show films in NYC even though on the show they are supposedly in Chicago and have giggled at the yellow NY taxi cabs in the past. That said though, this surely takes the cake. Radio City Music Hall? Really!?
I used to work at Rock Center so I recognized this shot of 6th Avenue immediately (even before they panned out) but I have to feel like they stopped even trying to pretend this takes place in Chicago.
I watched the movie Crazy Stupid Love this weekend and enjoyed it. The ending surprised me which doesn't often happen in rom-com type movies. I appreciated that. We also saw Take Me Home Tonight which was all kinds of 80s and some kind of really REALLY bad version of Jack and the Beanstalk. IMDB.com rates it a 5/10 and I think that is being very generous.
Saturday and Sunday were as planned, lazy. I had house guests for the weekend (visiting from the far away lands of Stamford, CT) and we played board games (Settlers of Catan and Apples to Apples) and watched movies and football and hung out in sweats and ate snacks.. Sunday ended with a mani/pedi. It was really relaxing and enjoyable.
In other TV news, the RHOA were ridiculous as always, I think I may start rooting for the old couple on the Amazing Race, and I hate Cochran on Survivor. Also, I'm glad Top Chef is back.
Tonight i'm meeting two girlfriends for dinner which should be fun. Today is day 6 of not smoking and so far so good. In 11 days I fly to Amsterdam for a week at home with my dad and sister..and a Dutch Thanksgiving. I can't wait!

congrats to you on the not smoking!!
It's funny, they shoot "Drop Dead Diva" here in the Atl, though it's supposed to take place in LA. There have been a few times we've watched it where my daughter will say "Look mom, it's
that place..."
whenever i hear stamford, ct, i think of attending a taping of the maury show.
I knew that show was shot in NY! Haven't been watching it lately though. Kind of fell off my radar.
What shade is on your digits? I love it! Lately I've been sporting a deep red, blue red, otherwise known as Bastille my heart by OPI.
@laurelitavera - I think it is OPI You Don't Know Jaques.
Have fun in Amsterdam! Make sure to try lots of restaurants or see if your favourite ones are still there so you can tell me where to go eat when I'm there in April. :-p I booked the hotel you suggested - thanks for that!
@notagoose - I can totally give you a bunch of suggestions right now
when in april are you going? I wanna try n go for queensday but I'm not sure ill succeed.
Congrats for not smoking! That is a major accomplishment.
A Dutch Thanksgiving sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy!
@X_naomi_X - We arrive in Amsterdam on the 15th of April and are there for 3 nights. If you have any suggestions for a yummy restaurant that's not exorbitantly expensive and easy to get to on foot or with transit, that would be awesome.
well done on the not smoking. and i didn't know the dutch celebrated thanksgiving...
also, also your nails are very pretty (and I just got crazy stupid love in the mail so glad it's worth the watch)
@notagoose - I love Rakang.. but there's also good Thai food in North America so perhaps that isn't the best suggestion? Their food is good, service is nice and the plates and glasses and tablecloths are fun.. and all different. Its a nifty lil' place. There's also NOMAD which is fun for a night of belly dancing. haha. Its a neat experience. However, I think you should try to have Indonesian Rijstafel as it is very yummy in Holland (Indonesia was a Dutch colony). You should try a 'pannenkoek' (pancake.. but more like a crepe). It can be eaten with cheese, bacon and syrup (i kid you not). Its delish! You should get fries at THIS place is you can (with mayo and peanut sauce) and if the weather is nice, i'm sure you'll have fun sitting at various outside terraces.. the Dutch have a lot of good food, but actual DUTCH food isn't THAT exciting. They do good potato mush with sausage stuff in the winter.. like slop, but yummy. They like their pea soups and stews.. but in April that should all be in the past. My fave things are sandwiches.. the bread, the cheese.. mmmm. Based on where you're staying you could grab sandwiches at THIS place (a block away and worth it.. their egg truffel salad is so good). And I love THIS place for a roll with cheese and coffee, but its not super cheap. It is also a block from your hotel. Plus, friends did see Susan Sarandon there last time though. haha. Oh, and at the market this place has good turkish food: http://www.bazaramsterdam.nl/Oh man, that made me hungry.
@Fodon - I grew up in Amsterdam so while the Dutch don't to Turkeyday, i'll be with my dad and sister and i'm inviting the Americans I know in Amsterdam over for a traditional american thanksgiving
@X_naomi_X - sounds awesome! Have a great time.
@X_naomi_X - Thanks for the awesome suggestions! xo
YES. SOMEONE ELSE WHO WATCHES TOP CHEF. I didn't get home from Orlando until like 11 last night so I still need to watch the last of the prelims. LOVE.
Also love The Good Wife although I'm not sure who their target market is because I don't know anyone else who watches it.
@AreYouThereGodItsMeEmilyC - I watch the Good Wife. Have even seen Season 1 twice (but that was sorta by accident). I haven't yet watched the 2nd Ep of Top Chef either.. but I will tonight as well
